As a busy mom, it’s hard to find time to cook healthy meals that are also fast to prepare. It’s all too easy to pick up something quick and unhealthy on the way home from work, or while you’ve got the baby in one arm trying to cook dinner with the other.
Meal prep is a great way to save yourself time over the week. You can spend an hour on Sunday preparing meals for the week, and you’ll have three or four lunches or dinners ready to go whenever you’re hungry. And, since you’re making all of these meals at once, it’s easy to make sure that they’re healthy.
Even if it’s just another thing that can be done on your day off, it will give you more time for relaxing and enjoying your time off during workdays. The best part about meal prep is how much money it saves you. Do the math: it’s cheaper to buy whole foods in bulk, cook them all at once, and store them in airtight containers than it is to buy more expensive manufactured snacks.
Plus, when you’ve prepped your meal for the week, you won’t be tempted by unhealthy fast food because it’s already there waiting for you, no matter how busy your day gets! That makes meal prep an absolute lifesaver if you’re trying to lose weight or just eat healthier overall. Here are some of our favorite meal prep recipes:
