Smoothies are a great way to reach your daily fruit and vegetable intake goals, especially in the summer, when it’s so hot out that you need something light and refreshing. Smoothies can be made with just about any type of fruit or vegetable, so you’re able to take advantage of whatever’s in season. You can even add in some ice cubes made from the water you boiled your vegetables in to add a little extra flavor and nutrients. If you have a small blender that doesn’t work well with ice cubes, try freezing the fruits and vegetables before blending them into your smoothie!
