It’s time to once again prepare your mind and body for autumn. You’ve been busy the last few months, but now it’s time to slow down and recharge.
Prepare your environment
No matter what the season, it’s important to get your environment ready for autumn. You’ll find yourself spending more time indoors, so make sure you have everything you need there.

Declutter your home
If you haven’t already, now is the time to make a plan for how you will declutter your home over the next few months. We all have stuff we don’t need anymore, so make a list of what needs to go and when! Then take action on it!
Switch summer decorations and opt for darker, richer colors in your home
You might be tempted to keep all those bright summer flowers around until winter, but don’t be afraid to let them go once they start looking tired! Instead, invest in some new autumnal decorations like pumpkins or fall leaves which will create a calmer mood in your home that suits autumn so much better.
Invest in a good autumnal candle to set the mood
There are many different types of candles out there today — from soy candles to beeswax candles — so find one that fits your style and mood best.
Self Care

Self-care is something all of us should be doing regularly. It’s important to take care of your body and mind so that you can be at your best when the days are shorter and colder outside.
If you’re someone who likes to have a nice bath before bedtime, then now’s the time to do it! The hot water will help relax your muscles and ease any aches and pains from a busy summer that might have left you feeling stiff or sore. Plus, it’s great for clearing your head before going to sleep at night, which will help ensure that you wake up feeling refreshed in the morning.
Treat yourself with an indulgent homemade facial mask that includes mango extract (for glowing skin), raw honey (for hydration), and yogurt (for healthy skin). Spend some time reading or listening to podcasts before bed — they’ll help calm your mind as well as relax tense muscles from exercise earlier in the day.
Don’t miss out on social connections just because the sunny weather is over — stay active by joining a yoga class or joining a sports team at school so you can still meet new friends and make connections.
Health
Create a new meal plan with seasonal vegetables and fruit (incorporate root vegetables like pumpkin, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, and beets).

Your body needs more vegetables in the fall to help it detoxify and maintain healthy functioning. Make sure you eat enough of them every day by creating a new meal plan with seasonal vegetables and fruit like carrots, squash, and beets. These foods will give you lots of vitamin A, which helps repair skin cells as well as keep your immune system strong. You’ll also get plenty of fiber from these foods that help lower cholesterol levels.
Transition from more active workouts like biking and running to calming like yoga and taichi.
Incorporating relaxing activities like yoga or taichi into your workout routine can help release endorphins which are natural painkillers in the brain that can reduce stress levels. You’ll also find that these activities are great for helping you relax post-workout so you don’t feel depleted or sore after exercise.
Skincare
Autumn is the perfect time to be a bit more conscious of your skincare routine. While the weather is cooler, it’s still sunny and humid outside. That means that your skin is going to be exposed to more sunlight than ever before.
With all this extra sun exposure, you need to make sure that you protect your skin against UV damage. That’s why we recommend using a heavier moisturizer with SPF during these months.
Find a perfect lip balm and lip scrub to prevent dry lips. Look for products that are rich in shea butter and other oils, because these will moisturize your lips without clogging them up.
Give yourself permission to take time off
We all need time away from our jobs every now and again! We can’t be doing everything all of the time so give yourself permission to take time off when needed – whether that’s one day or two weeks! You’ll be amazed how refreshed you feel after taking this step towards feeling happier at work!
