We all know the feeling: that late-night craving for a sweet treat, when we’re too tired to fight it and end up tearing open a package of Oreos. Or worse, stopping at a fast-food joint for a milkshake. We’ve all been there, but we can do better – so we came up with a list of our favorite healthy snack recipes.
But first, a word on snacking: when it comes to healthy snacks, we don’t believe in deprivation. Rather than thinking of them as an indulgence, we like to think of snacks as fuel. Our favorite snacks have a balance of protein and fiber to keep us full and satisfied until our next meal. And since portion control is key, we like to stick with one serving (think: one handful) so that the snacks don’t turn into a meal.
Here are our top 6 favorite recipes:
Date Energy Balls

We love dates! Not only are they delicious and sweet, but give you lots of energy. Dates are a great source of fiber, potassium, iron and can help with digestion. We like to eat them by themselves or make these energy balls that are a great snack even kids will enjoy.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites

Peanut butter and banana sandwiches might be the best snack, ever. This combination of ingredients is so delicious there are songs written about it.
Air Fryer Chickpeas

Chickpeas are high in protein, fiber, and iron. They also contain zinc, folate, phosphorus, and B vitamins. They may reduce cholesterol levels and help control blood sugar levels!
They are delicious hot or cold, as an afternoon snack or sprinkled over a salad. Try adding some to a lunchbox or keeping them handy in your desk drawer when you need a quick snack.
Zucchini Parmesan Crisps

Fresh vegetables might not be the first thing you reach for. Or the second, or even the third. But zucchini and parmesan might be our favorite combination. Zucchini is an easy vegetable to love: it’s mild and slightly sweet, it’s bright green, and it’s everywhere in the summertime (especially if you have a garden).
Strawberry Yogurt Bites

Yogurt is a great snack because it’s easy to make, filling, and can be paired with almost anything. If you’re looking for a way to take your yogurt snack to the next level, try these strawberry yogurt bites! Not only are they more fun than plain yogurt, but they’re really healthy too.
