First dates can be very intimidating and scary, but with the right mindset and preparation, there’s no need to stress about it.
One of the most common reasons for the first date to also become last is the lack of communication so we came up with a few topics you can discuss with your date to avoid the awkward silence.
Talk about something you love
When people talk about something they are passionate about their eyes lit up! Instead of complaining about your job, focus on the positive and discuss your future projects. It’s also a great way to see if your date shows interest in your dreams and finds your passion interesting. If they don’t, this might be a sign they might not be the right person for you. After all, you should find a partner who will support you and believe in your dreams!
Ask about their childhood
You can learn a lot about a person asking about their childhood. Do they have any siblings? Did they get along with their parents? Where did they grow up?
Do they have any pets?
Is it just us, or do people who love animals just hit different? It’s an important topic if you both have pets or think about having them in the future. Animals have their own personalities too, and not all of them get along so keep that in mind for any future plans.
Do they like traveling?
Are you looking for a partner to travel the world with? In that case, you MUST find out how they feel about traveling. Long-distance relationships can work, but they take a lot of effort and won’t work for everyone.
What’s a perfect date?
You’re nearing the end of your first date, and might be thinking about the next one already. If you want to be subtle, ask what their ‘perfect date’ would look like. Picnic in the park, skydiving, a dancing lesson, or whatever else it is, reply with ”let’s do it next time”. It shows that you listen and care about what they like.
These are just some of our favorite topics for first dates. We would love to hear yours in the comments down below!
